This means understanding your WHOLE SELF which includes everything from your motivations, intentions for starting your business to your tone & voice, your mission and vision statement. All of it!

At 86th & Trend all projects kick off with a strategy roadmap.

This is an opportunity for us to deep dive into your competition, what is and isn’t working on your site, your mission, your tagline, future business goals, and how to bring that vision to life on your website.

I went through this with my refresh and it was so helpful even though I thought I had a good idea of what I stood for. The work gives you a roadmap that lays out exactly how your website will support you to reach those goals.

At 86th & Trend I go into a lot more detail with my clients but I am sharing a couple questions from our Strategy Roadmap to help get you thinking. Once you work through an exercise like this you will be crystal clear on your tone, your voice, your mission and vision for your business! This is a great place to be and will allow you to be more productive as you move through the next stages of your website refresh.

Mission Statement Prompts:

The goal of your mission statement is to naturally attract the right clients. It’s a chance to tell potential clients more about how you plan on serving them.

Use these to get you started if you need help:

I help _______________ with _____ through _____, ______, and __________.

My mission statement to help you craft yours is:

I provide website design & strategy for the empowered entrepreneur who is inspired to invest in a a life she’s passionate about and is ready to reclaim her time, knowing her website is taken care of and she can focus on what she does best — running her business.

Tagline:

People need to know what you do within seconds of landing on your website. A clear tagline tells them they’re in the right place. A tagline is often a catchy line but still remains clear. Always go back and think does this actually tell people what I do?

My tagline to help you craft yours is:

For women who are ready to outdream themselves with custom website designs and strategy.

  • WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS IN YOUR BUSINESS?
  • HOW ARE YOU MAKING MONEY RIGHT NOW? WRITE DOWN ALL THE WAYS YOU’RE DOING THIS, AND ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU’RE MAKING WITH EACH SERVICE.
  • IS THERE ANYTHING CURRENTLY HOLDING YOU BACK FROM REACHING THESE GOALS?WHAT DIFFERENTIATES YOU FROM OTHERS IN YOUR INDUSTRY? OR WHAT DO YOU HOPE WILL DIFFERENTIATE YOU? DO YOU HAVE ANY PARTICULAR PASSIONS, IDEAS, OR UNIQUE EXPERIENCE THAT YOU THINK WILL SET YOU APART?
